EDM is used to machine metal parts by using an electric current to erode the material.
This technique is used for complex shapes that would be difficult to produce by other means, for small parts, for conductive materials and for high dimensional accuracy.
Additionally, EDM can also be used to produce deep cavities in parts, which can be difficult to do with other machining methods.
